SPUTNIK GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY
From the Space Race to the Space Station:
Celebrating 50 years of exploration
November 15, 2007 6:30pm - 10:30pm
we left the Earth and the world has never been the same. Join us
for the
Sputnik Golden Anniversary co-hosted by the Russian Embassy.
We'll celebrate the 50th anniversaries of the launch of the Sputnik
(October 4, 1957) and Explorer I (January 31, 1958) and toast the next
50 years of space exploration.
There will be several exhibits by
local space organizations (including NASA), and an exhibit on space
history.
The event will include a jazz trio
(all trained at the Duke Ellington School!), exquisite catering, and the
premiere of the "Sputnik Martini" sponsored by icecaters.com.
Come mingle with the DC space community and celebrate the next 50 years of
space exploration!
Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets are available through Google Checkout - please follow the link below.
